NYC's Upcoming Events in Fashion

I'm finally back in the NYC! It's been a whirlwind since I stepped foot out of that cab on 31st street. But, it has been fun none the less. My dorm room... it's cute and I love that I get to cook my own food! I'm kind of a health freak even though sometimes I slip up and grab a Micky D's cheeseburger and fries. But at least I try, right? But anywho, I'm extremely excited that I am taking Italian this semester. I'm such a nerd, because I love to learn new things.

So onto something a little bit more serious....FASHION!


Fashion Weeks!!!
So as you all know, Spring 2008 Fashion Week is next week from September 5-12 here in New York City! Well, there is another fashion week as well, called Nolcha Fashion Week that is also on the same dates. Nolcha is a smaller fashion week that puts a few, but great designers who are not as known to the forefront. Nolcha also allows the audience to be an active participant with many seminars, workshops, as well as a competition. For those of us who are not fortunate enough to go...since the runway show is a private event for industry insiders....here are a few pieces from featured designers:

Click Chic: The Fine Art of Fashion Photography
Starting September 6- October 6 the School of Visual Arts (SVA) is having a fashion photography show titled, "Click Chic: The Fine Art of Fashion Photography". The exhibition takes place at the Visual Arts Museum, 209 East 23rd Street, New York City. The featured photographers are Roderick Angle, Guy Aroch, Maki Kawakita, Ryan Michael Kelly, Chiun-Kai Shih and Sarah Silver.
