On That NY Grind Again

Sorry for no post last week, I was really busy preparing for my weekend trip to DC and trying to get work done. I went to DC for Howard's homecoming festivities this weekend and had the time of my life! It was soooo good to get away and sleep in a comfy bed that can fit more than just me and my stuffed tiger. I advise anyone who hasn't gone to an HBCU's homecoming to def go for the experience. The best thing is you meet lots of cool and interesting people. And now I'm looking forward to Thanksgiving break!

So here's the goods:

PROTEGE PROJECT

I was skimming one of my fav logs, The Coveted and came across the Protege Project.
"The Protégé Project will see top fashion designers Karl Lagerfeld, Donatella Versace, Francisco Costa for Calvin Klein, Paul Smith and the editor of Vogue Italia, Franca Sozzani mentoring five young protégés, who will each create a fashion collection made primarily from Australian Merino wool.
AWI’s collaboration with the world’s most respected bespoke tailors and their representative organisation, Savile Row Bespoke, was also launched at a unique event held at the British Ambassador’s residence in Paris. Bespoke tailors created suits especially for the event."

FASHION DESIGN WORKSHOP

There's nothing better than learning hands on from a successful designer regarding how to start your own clothing line...along with shmoozing and complimentary drinks. I mean it's a three for one deal. This event is hosted by Philia Kim Downs, founder of pH by Philia (her high-end boutique collections) and pH New York( her DIY vintage reconstruction line). The cost is $150, so if you have the extra cash and the passion for starting your own line with all the fixings you need, I'm sure it will be well worth it.
